Short answer: Buyers most want to know if something is in stock, how quickly it ships and how it's delivered. Most items at Oak Wood Wine Barrels are in stock, and in-stock orders ship within five business days. Shipping is free within the continental U.S., and larger orders, like the Top Shelf Bar Cabinet ($1,259.10), are delivered by appointment. The rest of this page answers the next questions: Is it real barrel wood? What size is it? What is included? What do I do when it arrives?
Prices as of October 6, 2026; each link shows live stock.
Is it in stock?
Most items are, and each product page shows live stock. Check the exact option you want. Stock is listed per option, so a chair can be in stock in one color and not another, and a set in one stool count and not another. If you don't see the option you want in stock, call (832) 933-8787 before selecting a different option.
How fast does it ship?
In-stock items ship within five business days, and transit then takes 3 to 7 business days.
How is it delivered, and what does shipping cost?
We offer free shipping within the continental U.S. Larger orders such as sets, cabinets and game tables are delivered by appointment so you can pick a day when someone is home. Oak Wood Wine Barrels delivers anywhere in Houston, and local pickup is by appointment. If you are outside the continental U.S., call before ordering.
Is it made from real barrels?
Yes. Our product pages describe the furniture as made from solid oak Bordeaux-type Wine Barrels, with staves and metal hoops, finished with spar varnish, and many listings note the barrel's authentic wine stain. Some barrel chairs still have the bung hole in the back. The Barrel Lounge Chair ($1,079.10) listing notes that not all chairs have one. Those details are from a real, used barrel, not new lumber made to look old.
Our barrel furniture also appeared in the Netflix series Mo.
Will it look exactly like the photos?
Similar, but not the same. Each piece is from a different barrel, so the oak's shade, the grain and the wine stain differ from piece to piece, and several listings say so directly. Even small items have variations. The used silicone bungs come in different shapes and are shipped at random. If you want a close match, such as for a pair of chairs, call before ordering.
What size is it?
No two barrels are the same, so all listings show length, width and height with a tolerance of ±5% or ±10%. Some examples:
| Piece | Size (L × W × H) |
|---|---|
| Barrel Stool | 18.9 × 18.9 × 27.6 in |
| Barrel Lounge Chair | 28.2 × 27.8 × 36.9 in |
| Top Shelf Bar Cabinet | 27.4 × 27.2 × 38.6 in |
| Round Top with Glass Center | 35.4 × 35.4 × 2 in |
Before you order, measure the room and doorways the piece will need to go through.
Does it need assembly?
The listing tells you when it does. The steel-leg tables need to be assembled (instructions included), and so does the base of the luxury hydraulic stool. Wall racks are sold with the back hooks already installed; you just add the wall hooks. The foot rail sold on its own comes with its #8 screws, plus rubber pads on the Bourbon/Whiskey Barrel version. Read the listing for the piece you want before you order.
Will a top or foot rail fit a barrel I already own?
Most likely, if it's a regular size. The Round Top with Glass Center ($595) fits 53 to 59 gallon barrels. The Foot Rail ($236.50) is available in two versions: one is 37 inches outside with 25.5 inches between supports for a 59-gallon Wine Barrel, and the other is 34.5 inches outside with 24 inches between supports for a Bourbon/Whiskey Barrel. Both are made for barrels without doors. Measure the width of the barrel where the rail will sit.
Can barrel furniture go outside?
The only item in the catalog that is finished for outdoor use is the Half-Barrel Planter ($316.50), which has a marine varnish. Everything else is finished in spar varnish, and those pieces are indoor furniture that belongs in heated and cooled rooms.
How do I pay safely online?
Use the store's own checkout on obarrel.com. Watch out for anyone who contacts you through social media or a marketplace message and then asks you to pay by wire transfer or a payment app; this is a common scam pattern for any furniture purchase. If something feels wrong about a payment request, call the business at a number listed on its own website.
What should I do when it arrives?
- If possible, examine the piece before the driver leaves.
- Take photos of any damage to the item or packaging.
- Before signing, note any damage on the delivery paperwork.
- Keep the packaging until any issue is sorted out.
Oak Wood Wine Barrels has a 3-day inspection policy: if your order arrives damaged or we made a mistake with it, tell us within 3 days of delivery and we'll replace it free of charge. Call (832) 933-8787.
What about returns?
All sales are final, as stated in our refund policy. Large, handmade pieces are expensive to ship, so the time to answer a question about size, color or fit is before you buy, not after. If anything is unclear, call first.
